April Ross
April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball players to capture medals at many Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic medal with Alix Klineman, who is a first-time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. Since she's 39 years old she could have her last shot. However, she is confident of achieving top honours. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing consistently or well they can earn a gold. Also, I'll take the chance to have chances. Ross was born on August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area together with her parents. Her athletic career was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of activities. In her time as a college athlete, she also played indoor track and volleyball. She clearly was the top in the game of indoor volleyball. Based on her biography, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter on the volleyball court throughout her time in high school. The results of her efforts were acknowledged in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's National Circle of Champions players of the year. In addition, she was awarded the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been continuing to play since the year 2017. However, Ross played a significant role in the world of beach volleyball before joining the duo. She's won big events twice, with various partners. A couple of those is an iconic player in the volleyball world. From 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy, Ross won a World Title in 2009, while racing internationally. They went on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the group to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor as she left the team. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. In high school and the years before she hit the sand as a pro Ross played for the USC Trojans as an collegiate. The time she spent at USC was impressive. The year 2000 was her freshman year. was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the Award and also be named an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to get to the Final Four with her help. Her sophomore year was the time she was devastated by a personal setback, but she was able to repeat as an All-American. During her final two seasons in the Trojans team the team was led to success by winning two consecutive national championships. In 2003-2004, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in America by The Honda Sports Award. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Sadly, Ross mom Margie was not able to witness her daughter ascend to the highest levels of beach volleyball superstardom. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. Ross holds her mother dear. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her, both at and off the beaches.
